The European Researchers’ Night is a Europe-wide event involving over 300 cities in around 30 countries. The event is supported by the European Commission and promotes science, fun learning and research careers. The European Researchers' Nights take place on the last Friday of September and have been organised every September since 2005.

PEARRL was involved in the Career Café event. A location where the public could meet researchers in a more informal setting and learn about their interests, their day-to-day life and their research projects.

FUTURES - European Researchers’ Night in Bristol and Bath
PEARRL was involved in the Photography Chinese Whispers, a means for researchers from the South West of England and Catalonia to tell the public about their research.
The principle: One single picture was sent to three different researchers that in turn produced a picture that they sent to another researcher, producing three chains of reaction to the picture. The idea is that when receiving the picture the researchers had to create a photographic response to it keeping some elements from the picture they had just received and at the same time introducing elements of their own research and of the way they see their day to day life as a researcher.
